Brand new to Gaslamp is Katsuya by Starck featuring the dynamic pairing of Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi and design impresario Philippe Starck, Katsuya by Starck is truly a feast for the senses. Nestled into the ground floor of the luxurious Andaz Hotel they offer up exotic specialty cocktails, unique rolls, spectacular sushi and delectable sashimi platters, Chef Uechi skillfully translates Japanese flavors to the American palate. Signature dishes include Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño and Miso-Marinated Black Cod. With superb talent and exacting precision, Katsuya by Starck is changing the face of Japanese cuisine.

Another celebrity member of our Sushi Team is Nobu Restaurant , There is no argument that Nobu is famous in the world of innovative Japanese Cuisine and this elegant San Diego venue he's created is a tasty part of the uber-hip Hard Rock Hotel. Be sure to bring your thirst for some quality sake or look up thier fabulous Nobu Happy Hour on weeknights.  Soon to be famous is Gaijin Noodle + Sake House.  This relaxing, comfortable haven is made for those who crave delicious, innovative food that will excite their palate and stick to their ribs. With a tip of the hat to traditional methods, they push boundaries and take each dish to a higher level with the integration of fresh, local and sustainable ingredients. Katsu Sushi & Japanese Cuisine . Recently expanded from their original location, Katsu has been voted best sushi bar in San Marcos.
